Casey,

The first thing to do is swap the cables - you may have a wiring problem 
with the K2 serial cable.

If the cable is not the problem, tell me if you are dealing with a KIO2 
option in a 10 watt K2 or the equivalent in a KPA100 and I can give you 
some DC tests to perform.
