Phil, Don and all.

I can corroborate the 40 hour "standard".
I built my K2/100 in 4 weeks working most weeknights after work for a
couple of hours. My radio has all the options you can have except for
the KAF2 (I've got the DSP2) and the KNB2. I also built an NGen and XG2
and KAT100-1 with the kit. I wound my own toroids too. I really don't
see what the big deal is with winding toroids.

The only problem I had with the whole process was caused by my
irrational exuberance at firing the rig up the first time and having it
work perfectly. I failed to re-tighten the screws on the finals in the
KPA100 and smoked 'em.

Pilot error the whole way and another shining example of why "RTFM"
applies all the time.
