Hi John, I am also very interested in an external monitor connection. The P3 is very nice but it's a strain on these old eyes.
I have a second monitor on my desk where I now display the VE7CC cluster which leads me to wonder if it would be possible to use an AB switch to switch between the P3 and the PC. I don't know if anybody makes 25 pin AB switches and I don't know if removal of a monitor from a PC would cause PC problems.
