I'm sure it will be modular. We are witnessing the fruits of the investment Elecraft began making a few years ago in DSP development and SMD manufacturing. Combined with the improvements in low-power devices for use in the mobile phone / tablet markets and Wayne's love of trail-friendly radios, the KX3 was almost inevitable.
While I would like new kits, too, and will continue to build out my K2 station, the features and capabilities of the new Elecraft product lines are very compelling.
