Ant 2? I presume you mean on the K3. Also when you say the "antenna switches to ant 2" it sounds as if you are using ANT 1 for the other bands and ANT 1 is connected to the KPA500. In that case you need to hit ANT to switch it from 2 to 1 (that is remembered "per band" so once you do it all is well).
Also it sounds like you have a separate 6 meter antenna on the K3 ANT2 connector. No surprise there and that would account for your being able to transmit and receive on 6 meters with the K3. The KPA500 does not offer two ANT outputs. You'll need to swap feed lines at the KPA500 output when going to 6 meters, either manually or using a coaxial switch.
