9 years old, eh? Apparently savvy engineers show their talents early :-) My grandmother bought one for me when I was 13, $10 or so I think, I built a crystal radio using it as the audio amp, and she was so impressed. Grandma always told me I was a genius. Mom, Dad, and Life ... not so much.
