Well it just so happen both my girls back tires were flat so I cut the tube out of one and reversed it and cleaned it and stuck it on the k2. Once I armor all it and get the powdery talc off of it I think it will look stock. definitely like the feel of it now. Also went ahead and took some 1/2" shrink wrap and reversed it so the markings wouldn’t show and cut out 5 pieces for the 5 knobs(AF Gain, RF Gain, Keyer, Power and RIT knob.) My harbor freight heat gun did the trick. Thanks for the tip!

If you can find one a little smaller in diameter (probably a 1.125 to 1.25" tube), it can be stretched to fit on the knob. The trick is getting parallel cuts through the tube. It may have taken a few attempts, but the old tube supplied lots of raw material. 73, Phil, NS7P -----Original Message----- From: elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net]On Behalf Of John Cooper Sent: Friday, May 27, 2011 5:27 PM To: elecraft Subject: [Elecraft] rubber band vfo Anyone have a supply of the rubber bands from yaesu for the k2’s vfo knob. Or know a supply for a black or grey rubber band. The ones used at Market basket for broccoli were red. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
