What's wrong with me? I was going to be perfectly happy with Kenwoods ts-480hx.
200 watts when I wanted it. 150 for the top limit of Field Day. Happy Times!
Pretty good at everything really. So what happened? I saw the KX3 and it
sparked the possibilities.  I imagine myself at work, taking it to the top of
the 55ft digester at work, throwing a wire over the side and working psk and a
quick cw contact during lunch break. I imagine being on my piece of crud
sailboat that I paid for with 12 hours of overtime, loading up the whole
rigging, (for it isn't grounded!) and talking to Art Bell on 80 meters about
UFO's (don't tell me you don't know what I'm talking about hi hi). Or taking my
once in five year trip to my XYL's homeland working from the other side as the
DX as a kinda rare DU9/ station on a G5RV strung
across two 70' coconut trees. It's why I'm up at 2:49 this morning cause I
can't sleep. Gosh, have I ever wanted anything so badly? Well maybe once. A
sailplane. Have I ever been so excited about anything. Well, my XYL of course.
Man, this is definitely the Angelina Jolie of radios!
Now if it could talk to my portable blue tooth keyboard. hmmm
Really though. Think about it. The minds of those who concieved this.  It's
just amazing. I hear that some of the tech that goes into memory storage among
other things is like 'atom' size now. We must surely be reaching the limits of
what can be. And I still struggle to get my spelling right. Before I get that
forgetting desease, just let me praise the authors of this technology and say,
"Wow! Thanks Man" I really mean it. And . . . I really need this RADIO soonest!
73's de N5VWN Roland
the trick is, to keep all the magic smoke in the box, for if it leaks out, the
radio won't work....
