Just a heads up about the returning a K3 or KPA500 for repair service - the instructions contained in the RSA letter Elecraft sent me for packing and shipping state "Ship to: Elecraft , Inc. PO Box 69. Aptos CA 95001-0069 (if shipping via Postal Service) or Elecraft, Inc 125 Westridge Dr., Watsonville CA 95076 ( if shipping UPS or Fedex.)"
That apparently is no longer true. In the ongoing saga of KPA500 SN 26 that just didn't want to work, I send it back USPS priority mail on Tuesday to the PO BOX in Aptos as the instructions directed. This worked the first time I sent it back, two weeks earlier. This time Murphy was waiting to belay me at the post office. First it took three days, not the advertised two for USPS to get it to Altos, and secondly, Elecraft does not really expect shipments to go there. To his credit, on Friday near 5 pm, I got a call from Dale at Elecraft asking where my amp was. I had sent him email on Tuesday to say it would arrive on Thursday. I looked up the tracking number and told Dale USPS had 'attempted delivery' and 'left a notice' Friday morning. Dale told me they do not use the Altos PO Box for returns and that it would be Monday before they could pick the amp. I am sure he was as miffed as I was because it sounded like they were very anxious to have a look at it. So the heads up to all is to send your packages to the Watsonville street address even if it sent UPSP. ..mike AI6II ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
