I recently bought a non-functioning KSB2. Along with the board the seller supplied two U1 controllers with the latest firmware 1.08B. I was able to get the KSB2 working and verified that both U1s were working OK. If anyone would like this, I guarantee it's in working order and will ship it for $15 postpaid to any US zip code (more for international). These currently sell for $29 plus shipping from Elecraft:
