Bill, The Icom mic will NOT work on the K3 unless you re-wire the mic plug.
The Heil headset needs either the Kenwood adapter (red) or it can be plugged into the rear jacks. If that Heil headset is for certain an Elecraft Proset-K2/3, then it needs bias turned on because it has an electret element, just like the Elecraft MH2. OTOH, if it is a regular Heil Proset it does not need bias.
