All I can say is wow, what a great addition to an already great transceiver. This evening I was able to do the output buffer mod (comes with the P3 as it turns out, so I have an extra set of parts now), install the KXV3a, and assemble the P3. All plus required calibration, etc. and I'm up and running.
My only comment would be that installing the KXV3a would be a little easier if PEM nuts were used with the back panel screws, that one down in the corner is tough to reach with a lockwasher and nut... Now I have something new to play with over the holiday.
