The issue only seems to present itself when I power off
the KX1 then later power it on. It also seems to only
happen when I am running on external power, but leave the
power plug plugged in with both the KX1 and the power
supply off. If I turn off the KX1 but leave the power
supply on, it seems to retain the last VFO position on
each band.
This really isn't much of a problem, but it just seems
kind of strange. Maybe the EEROM is being drained somehow
when the external power plug is in place but without power
on it. Who knows.

It looks to me like the band is stored in the EEROM of
the PIC, which is internal.
I know it's stored on band change and on single tap of
the middle button, but not on a timer like on the K2.
I don't recall it being set when you do TUNE, but it
might be. If band change and single tap of the band
button store it, then I think that's normal.
I hope the uC reset fixes the problem for you.
Leigh.
Tapping the middle button only displays the current
frequency.
I did a system reset on the KX1 and I will see if that
helps.

Subject: Re: [Elecraft] KX1 Frequencies Between Bands
Does it remember it when you tap the middle button once?

I have been noticing that on my KX1, it does not
"remember" the last used frequency when changing between
20, 30 and 40 meters. The only time that it seems to
"remember" is when I tune the radio with the ATU. Once
the antenna has been tuned, the frequency that the KX1
was on when the tune function was performed seems to be
the one that is locked into memory and will be the one
the KX1 returns to each time I switch bands.
Is this normal behaviour for the KX1?
Thank you.
