John, Be careful of wall warts. If you know it is a regulated one, then all is well, but most are unregulated and the voltage will soar with no load and drop to its rated voltage at full rated load. I have measured many "12 volt" wall warts at 17 volts. The KX1 is rated for 15 volts maximum.
