For those of you who are non-believers in the power of a lightning strike, check these photos: http://s993.photobucket.com/albums/af58/andyvavra/Lightning/ Photo slide show
I had */EXACTLY/* the same thing happen in 2007 when lightning struck a tree in my back yard and coupled to a cable TC line that crossed over the tree's roots. I lost everything in the shack and was lucky the house didn't burn down, as it was filled with smoke. Fortunately insurance covered everything and I eventually replaced the Icom rigs with a K3/P3 combination. Now, */everything/* is disconnected outside the house when I'm not on the air. Immediately afterword the cable modem was smoking (and hot to the touch!), and my wireless access point (WAP) was dead. Unfortunately, my PC connected to the WAP, also was dead, and my P3 and K3 connected also have problems."/ -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/Lightning-Strike-tp6558962p6560651.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
