Ladies and gentlemen,
I proudly announce my first contact (SSB) with K2 serial number 4950.
I have been playing around with it this afternoon, familiarizing myself
with the rig, and had answered a few CQs with no contact resulting, when
I heard SV9CVY on 20 Meters working them one after the other; I got in
the fracas, learned his listening pattern, and tried to fit it before
calling... on my third call, he came back and gave me a 57 (he was 59)...
I admit, I had a little help; my 8 element LP was pointed his way... the
power level was set at 10 watts...
Now, I just have to calm down and wire my paddle up for some CW action.
I am quite proud of this little rig, and very thankful for the help I
got from Jerry, WA2DKG, who built the thing for me - nice job Jerry! Thanks!
