I just completed the IF alignment for the transmitter and all is well. Thanks to Elecraft for the fine design and kit. Christine and Val packed all those little envelopes with exactly the right components; I can't tell you how good it felt when I reached the last component of each type and it was exactly the one I needed to install. No extras, none missing.
Thanks to Tom Hammond and his web site. I took his recommendation and bought the Hakko 936 soldering station and applied his advice on soldering as well. Very helpful, Tom, I appreciate all the effort you've expended.
