AFAIK there are no plans to modify the K2 firmware to work with the P3, but there are plans to modify the P3 firmware to work with the K2. It will never be as closely-integrated as the K3, but most of the features should work, including readout of the K2 frequency on the P3, click to QSY, accurate amplitude display, etc. The main feature that won't work is fixed-tune mode.
