Gary, If it is more like a pop every 5 kHz., you should run CAL PLL to cure it. Before doing that open the bottom cover and check RFC15 with your ohmmeter (that is the small RF Choke soldered to pin 16 of U4) Check it with your ohmmeter - it will read 5 volts on each end even if it is open.
