If it was broken into 3 modules: rf deck,  control (overtemp, swr, 
sequencing, fan control etc) and power supply then they could both a 
HF/6M amp and a 2 Meter amp which share many modules.  You get a bigger 
market with commonality of parts and without much extra design work.
