Pippo, Yes, you can use the green wire or any other wire of a similar size. The reason 2 colors are used is to have visual recognition for the primary and secondary windings. If you use the same green wire, I suggest that you apply some paint or a permanent marker stripe to the wire so you can tell the difference between the two windings.
