With due respect to the high regard of Heil sound products, through experiment, I often find that some computer boom headsets give very good performance but at a very low price. In other words, in case you come across some computer boom headsets, by all means, give them a try and you may be surprised by their excellent value for money. I am currently using a computer headset which was bought in local computer store at USD 10. As an ex-user of Heil PR780 and Traveler dual set, I know what is meant by good audio. Finally, a careful adjustment of the TX/RX EQ, ALC and COMP in the K3 will warrant very good audio results. I sold my W2IHY 8 band equaliser for some time.

I was looking at the Pro Set Elite (which isn't on the Elecraft site), and Heil's web page notes it's use mostly for Icom radios. I've found the AD-1K cable on the HRO site for these headsets. I was hoping anyone could comment on the Pro Set Elites w/ the K3, as well as a bit about the iC element. I was a bit concerned reading the "full range dynamic broadcast element" for doing CQ.
