So far, we haven't had much response to the invitations we sent last week to
attend a major QRP Event in Monte Sano State Park the evening of Saturday the
21st.We are aware that we only sent the invitation about 10 days ago which
could be too short a notice for people having to make travel plans.Another
superb Southern Barbecue with Cherries Jubilee for desert (surely this isn't
keeping people away) and another novel QRP contest with prizes is planned, but
no expenditures have been made so far, pending the level of interest we get
from this notification. (The shared contest station uses K3 and PoTA station
uses K2.)The Huntsville Hamfest has several dinners that night that compete
with this time period. And, this hamfest also has a large number of excellent
seminars with celebrities presenting. So most people will be involved with
these activities vs. this QRP opportunity.If interested--We need to hear from
you within the next 2 days. If we get a reasonable response, we'll co
ntinue with our plans. Otherwise, we'll forgo this event for this year and
pursue it again next year with more advanced notice to help people get their
travel plans in place, etc. (Reducing its scope is another possibility.)
