There are two tutorials on my website that can help with some of your questions. The Power Point slides are http://audiosystemsgroup.com/HamInterfacing.pdf and much of the same stuff in words is in the later chapters (and one of the Appendixes) of http://audiosystemsgroup.com/RFI-Ham.pdf You should also download and study the documentation of N1MM, especially the quick start stuff. The RS232 connection runs from the computer to the P3 and then jumps from the P3 to the K3.
