No. You hear about Elecraft lightning damage because there are a huge number of people on this list willing to exchange their problems, solutions, ideas, and the like. It happens to all electronics if the lightning is close enough, it's just more apparent on this list. A couple of years ago, at N6A [Alpine County in the Cal QSO Party], we fried two [2] IC-756PRO2's with what looked and sounded like very minor snow static. Turned out, they had no bleed resistor on the antenna connection and the charge just built up. My Elecraft radios [3 of them] all bleed the antenna connections nicely. 73, Fred K6DGW - Northern California Contest Club - CU in the 2011 Cal QSO Party 1-2 Oct 2011 - www.cqp.org ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
