Just before today's practice session for CQWW RTTY, the front panel switches on my K3 s/n 993 stopped working. I first noticed that the xmit/tune button didn't work. Then I found none of the other buttons would work either.
I turned the rig off, and back on again. The POWER switch worked, but none of the other buttons worked. I then updated all the firmware, using the newest K3 Utility. I was only one or two FW revisions behind. The buttons still wouldn't work. I tried to do a switch test, but the menu/config button didn't work either, so I couldn't get into config. I saved the configuration. I tried to do an EE INIT, but the shift/lo button wasn't working either, so the EE INIT failed. I kept floundering around, pushing buttons, and then everything started working again. This was one minute before the practice session, and the rig worked fine during practice. Even when the buttons weren't working, the rig transmitted and received fine. Any ideas what could have caused all this, or what corrective/preventative actions to take?
