www.n3kl.org/sun/noaa.html Take a look at the GOES magnetometer [lower left corner], the electron flux [upper right corner] and the predicted Kp [which is 6 right now]. You can click on the graphs to get a bigger ones. The magnetometer normally oscillates between about +75 and +100 nT. I've never seen the ordinate go into negative values before.
Spaceweather mentioned that the CME compressed the magnetosphere to inside the geostationary orbit altitude, so perhaps that's what the big negative pulse is from. 73, Fred K6DGW - Northern California Contest Club - CU in the 2011 Cal QSO Party 1-2 Oct 2011 - www.cqp.org ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
