Ron, I cannot speak specifically about the adapter you are using, but many will not work properly at the K2 baud rate of 4800 bps. The one that I have tried which works is an Edgeport 4 port adapter. I have heard that the FTDI chipset adapers work better than those with the Prolific chipset, but that is just information I have gathered by hear-say. All I can state with certainty is that my Edgeport adapter works with the K2 using Windows XP and Ham Radio Deluxe/DM780.
