Mixing communication speeds was exactly what Elecraft said do do with the symptoms I was having. it worked fine. Still does. But if you turn off the P3 relays connect the lines between the two RS232 so would fail then. Works so well have not bothered to switch the computer to P3 speeds back to 38,400 bps.
