There is no defense. At least not on your end. Anybody can use your address as the 'from:' address. This is fundamental to how internet email was designed back in 1982. But where the spammers are actually using your address list, they probably broke into your computer (or your web mail, if that's where the address list is kept). Good security practices will certainly help against this. 73 Jon LA4RT > 73 > Kevin > VK3DAP / ZL2DAP > > On 5/10/2011 1:20 PM, Jim Lowman wrote: >> Someone, who is a member of the list, had his e-mail address hijacked. >> >> 73 de Jim - AD6CW >> >> > ______________________________________________________________ > Elecraft mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > Post: mailto:[email protected] > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net > Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
