Hello Phil,

I would do the mods according the related portion of PCB, e.g.

K3 Hardware AGC Threshold Mod Kit
K3 Audio Line Out Mod Kit +K3 Remote I/O Board Upgrade
K3 I/O Buffer Mod Kit
K3 VFO Tuning Noise Filter Kit

All the above are in the RF board.  After that, do the DSP swap which is on
front panel.

KPA3 12 v Sense Modification (1N4148) could be done at last.

TNX & 73,

Johnny VR2XMC

主題︰ [Elecraft] K3: Some advice on mods

I just received the following mod kits from Elecraft:

KPA3 12 v Sense Modification (1N4148)
K3 Hardware AGC Threshold Mod Kit
K3 Audio Line Out Mod Kit
K3 DSP Upgrade Swap
K3 I/O Buffer Mod Kit
K3 VFO Tuning Noise Filter Kit
K3 Remote I/O Board Upgrade
K3 Synth Stiffener

Question:  Even though all of these are relatively simple (I've got lots of
successful experience with PCB work/rework), do any of you have a
recommended strategy for performing these mods?  (i.e., just jump in and do
them all at once?  do them one at a time, checking radio function each time?
doing certain ones together, then checking operation before doing others?
etc.)

73,
Phil, WA7URV  K3 #1206
