What specific shortfalls in SDR applications that don't have images lead you to conclude they are inferior to the P3?
Also, keep in mind that "SDR" is not completely defined by soundcard-based configurations. Have you considered other computer-based SDR front ends like SDR-IQ or QSR-1 before making such a blanket assessment?
