I promised myself I wouldn't add to the noise with daily updates on the progress of K2 #4941, but after going through Alignment Part II I had to write to commend Elecraft on their fine work. It's pretty amazing after making hundreds of solder connections, including some truly tricky stuff with L33, that this thing works at all. It's certainly not due to my expertise. I was a little worried when I noticed the tuning wasn't very smooth. I'd pick up a CW signal and move 2-3 KHz up the band and still hear the same signal at the same pitch. Sure enough, eventually I got to "VFO Linearization" and after letting the radio talk to itself for a few minutes I had nice smooth tuning control. Anyway, on to part III in the morning.
