Just wanted to provide an update to my Quadra quandary. It is a quandary no more. I now have the K3 interfaced with the Yaesu Quadra VL1000.
I ordered the cable for the quadra from Tom Wirth, WN2FMM. It works well to interface the K3 with the Quadra amplifier. I hooked it up last night and it does the required band changes and key the amp with no issue. I am pleased and recommend Tom to anyone who needs a custom cable built for the Yaesu solid state amps, Quadra and FL7000. I still need to test the antenna tuning function of the amplifier since it has a built in auto tuner. For those not familiar with the auto tuner function of the quadra it is basically for tweaking slightly off resonance antennas not more than 2-3:1 SWR. It is kind of a nice to have and not nearly robust as it should have been designed. Thanks to all who sent perspective and advice directly on this critical challenge for me.
