VHF SKN activities were interrupted tonight when I switched to 2m and
all of the buttons went wonky -- some completely dead; others performing
"unrelated" functions. When the sanity checks (re-seat boards, re-load
firmare) failed to make a difference, I started crawling the schematics.
Pulling the FP off again, I measured across each resistor in the tap
divider to eventually discover R58 reading ~10 ohms rather than 3k. I've
never heard of a chip resister failing to a near short, so I'm suspecting
its companion, C69, isn't much of a capacitor anymore. Hopefully,
replacing one or both tomorrow will fix the problem. In the mean time, I
thought I'd check for any wisdom from the list :). - kb7psg
