George, If you are using the Elecraft MH2 (or Proset-K2) or other high output electret type microphones, then you do not need those mods. If you will have the KPA100, then the mods are not needed.
If you will be operating the K2 as a QRP SSB transceiver and will be using a lower output microphone, then yes, you would find those mods worthwhile.
