Ray, Please describe the "whine" in more detail. Is it more of a "popping" noise, or is it a low ptched oscillation, or is it a high pitched squeal, or something else. Does it vary with the AF gain control or is it more constant - if it varies, does it change in level, or pitch or both? Does it vary when tuning through a strong signal - how about a weak one, or is it present whether there is a signal being received or not.
If you do a TUNE (connect a dummy load first), is it silenced or is it still present. 73, Don W3FPR On 1/10/2012 12:46 PM, Ray Spreadbury wrote: > Hi All > > I've just completed the Noise Blanker to retrofit into existing my 4-band > K1, # 3020. > > Part of the installation is to remove C22 from the K1 RF Board& fit the > female 8 pin connector at J1 which seemed to go OK. > > I then fitted the KNB1 to the K1& went through the initial tests.
