I admit I know almost nothing about microphones. But I wonder if there are
other
characteristics relating to the element that might be important in addition to
frequency
response, such as the amount of sound pressure a mic can take before it
distorts.
i.e. if a contester is close talking a boom mic/headset combo, and screaming
loudly
will some mics take it and others turn to mush? Because they DO close talk
their
mics and they DO scream in their excitment.
