I believe the operation describe is possible now. You can receive on
another band with
the sub rx, with both receivers muted during transmit. I also listen for 6M
openings while
working on the HF bands. Of course you should use the AUX antenna port
connected to
a 6M antenna for the subrx. Your external antenna switching would then be
responsible
to connect the 6M antenna to the main antenna port if you choose to transmit
on 6.

What I am hoping for is the ability to tune the subrx (on either the same or
other band)
while transmitting, I realize I will need to watch the isolation between
the antennas,
but if the radio itself would handle this, I could use the sub rx to tune
the band for
other stations while I am transmitting.

(still hopefull)

Hi Mark,

I've asked for this configuration to Elecraft some time ago,
before ordering a sub-rx for my K3,but no answer.
The idea was to monitor the 6m band, during my lower
bands JT65 activity. I was not asking to receive during
transmit (...). Loss of 6m RX "just" during transmit
JT65 frames was not a problem!
The goal was to switch on 6m TX/RX when some opening
was present. I thought that it should be possible...
my error.

Good luck Mark.
