Hi George. Sounds to me like you are using VOX, and it is too sensitive. Try turning VOX off (e.g. press a PTT footswitch when you want to transmit live audio - the voice keyer automagically asserts PTT when triggered for the duration of the message) or at least turning down the VOX sensitivity.
