Just got my new used XV144. Planning to use it with my TS850. Looking over the schematic it appears K8 and K9 are open when power is off and closed anytime power is on.
It seems it should be possible to use one of the unused contacts on one of those relays to route RF from the TS850 to the HF antenna. There's already an extra empty BNC-size hole in the back panel which looks original. My question is whether I can put 100W of HF through the contacts on K8 or K9 more than once without welding them together? Anyone here already tried this?
