Hi Craig,
Yet another item to cart up the hill ? Actually after resting for a bit
most functions return. I recently did a ride at high altitude and
started getting tunnel vision. You don' t even notice the lack of oxygen
until it hits hard.

You should think about supplemental oxygen. You should be OK up to 12,000 ft
or so. If you're experiencing symptoms of hypoxia at altitudes less than
that, some extra 02 would be a good idea.

Paul,
I suppose your right !
I took the kx1 apart tonight and was considering repackaging it myself.
It could use a bit more room inside for a few more batteries as well.
How about KX1-hA (high altitude). Above 11K ft I tend to reduce my
judgement so simplification is important. Examples, I kept pushing the
tuning knob expecting it to read MHz, my code speed dropped, and I sat
there on a chunk of granite playing with the KX1 attached to a 20'
lighting rod as clouds formed overhead.

Brian, You just are never satisfied are you??? LOL! If I am away from home
with my KX1 I am usually in a park with a picnic table or at least a nice
wooden bench! So I guess with all your improvements?? really?? You will
call
it the KX2!!
