Terry, The KX3 end of the KXUSB or KXSER is a 3.5mm stereo plug. TXD (data from the computer) is on the tip and RXD (data to the computer) is on the ring. The shell is signal ground. AFAIK, the KXSER cable is the same as the one supplied with the XG3
