I've noticed that one can still buy on line the tubes used in my first regen - type 76 triodes from the early 1930's - for what are probably cheaper prices after adjusting for inflation than I paid for them in the 1940's.
And, of course, 40673s (with leads) are still available for under $6. Or how about a UX226 from the mid 1920's for $15? The issue is finding a large sustainable supply for a manufacturing company to use in a new design. But for homebrewing, I'd bet that there isn't a part that was ever made in any quantity what isn't still available. 73, Ron AC7AC ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
