I went through the archives through March of last year and cannot find an answer to my question, so here goes...
I finally got an antenna connected to the KRX3. I went through the operation for diversity mode and I *think* I have this setup right, but I cannot tell if it's actually receiving or not. From page 45 of the KRX3 Installation/Operation Manual: I hold SUB for 2 seconds and I get the "LINK" indication. If I hit it for 2 seconds again, I get UNLINK; however, the manual states that the kHz decimal point on VFO A should blink. Well, it doesn't, but the kHz decimal point for VFO *does* blink. Further down on that page, it states that I cannot turn on the preamp or attenuator unless I hold BSET first. I hold BSET and get "b SET" on the display. Whether I hit PRE or ATT, I get no indication that anything has happened. Even further down the same page (and I really don't understand this part), it tells me I can select the antenna I am using on the sub receiver. It tells me to hold BSET and then tap ANT. That works fine, I can select either ANT1 or ANT2. I have nothing connected to ANT2. Is this indicating which antenna the *main* receiver is using and not the *sub* receiver? I get the indication from the manual I am selecting the *sub* receiver antenna which makes no sense to me because my sub receiver is the BNC connector. The manual also states that *holding* RX ANT will accomplish the same thing as hold BSET and tapping ANT. All I get when I hold RX ANT is "SUB OFF." However, if I just tap RX ANT, I get a RX indicator on the display. I'm really confused with this diversity mode, so please be gentle with me.
