I would like to run in the 100 to 150W range most of the time but have to concede that I might want to run more power with my ICOM radio so there is a definite advantage to an external amp. A major consideration, is that I want to be able to maintain my own equipment, which is why I went for a K2 in the first place. So, while mulling over the pros and cons, I would like to get an idea of how much time the KPA100 would take to build for a seasoned kit builder/homebrewer. --------------------- >From my notes, my KPA100 took 25 hours to assemble. I'm a slow, patient worker. I hate fixing mistakes. There were no surprises or rework needed on the KPA100. The difference between 100 and 150 watts is about 1/4 of an S-unit. Hardly worth worrying about. And don't forget that Wayne/Eric have already leaked the existence of a QRO amp addition to the Elecraft lineup in the final stages of development. You can be sure it'll integrate perfectly with the K2/100.
