Brian, Elecraft's customer support *IS* really great (speaking out of own experience).
Nevertheless I hope that your example is not taken over by others! If everybody is calling them now to solve simple problems instead of looking into the manuals first and trying to solve the problems on their own then Elecraft will probably not be able to hold it's perfect customer service anymore. Please don't get me wrong, it is perfectly okay to call them if you can't solve problems on your own, that's why there is a customer service at Elecraft. It should just not be an excuse to not RTFM.
