Hi all, Well after letting the smoke out of a few parts now and then, and getting to know the people at Elecraft very well every time I needed some advice and parts, and of course depending on this list for everyone's advice, I have finally upgraded K2 #402.
I got the KAT100 and KPA100 into the EC2 case. This time everything checked out. Get this, after thinking 20 meters was dead, I connected my Kenwood mc-43 microphone and found N4PN IOTA NA-092 in FL and gave a shout into the mike, and he heard me perfectly first time. I had built the KSB2 about 5 years ago but was always afraid to try it. I was probably using about 80 Watts. So it was my first ssb qso with the K2. So the rig has all the mods including 14 new crystals and 2.4 kHz bandwidth, KDSP2. I still have my KAT2 in the K2 so it can be made an instant QRP rig. Now I have no more excuses.
