Macros can be invoked with PF1, PF2 and also M1 thru M4 tap or hold.

See K3 Utility Help,  Command Tester/K3 Macros, Macro assignment procedure
overview.  M1-M4 tap or hold can be used for CW/Data/Voice memories or
command macros.

You could actually do that with macros. Too bad there are only 2
programmable buttons on the K3, and in my case they are already spoken for
- but if you have a computer connected it could be done relatively easily.
