I am thinking of asking Elecraft to revise the K3 firmware to save the setting of VOX [on/off] with mode. I use VOX on in data mode (with a computer), and off in speech modes (SSB, FM, AM) with a microphone. There have been a number of times after I changed to a speech modes that I found I was transmitting because the ambient sound in the shack was loud enough to trigger the VOX. This change would cover me when I forget to change VOX before switching modes.
Would this change seriously inconvenance anyone's operations?
